heya michael, i saw a post you made in december last year, regarding 'connected but separate tulpas and parts to a greater whole'.... i havent finished reading the post yet, but i did glance over it and i wanted to say, that sounds like a median system. axen and i are somewhat similar to shade and null.

It's been referenced as such before, might look more into it later

i will say, axen is so far the most interesting headmate i've ever had... in part, simply due to the fact that he lives in his own world, separate from all the rest of us in our system. i would consider the world he lives in to more or less be our mindscape, but none of us except him have access to it when we're awake. sometimes, actually most times, he's off away in that world so i have difficulty contacting him. plus, when i go to his world... because we're the same person, he is the me that exists in that world, "i" can't go there. when i go there, i become him. like our roles switch, and i'm fronting in his body, but with his body i also sense his memories and retain his habits.

this dynamic makes it very easy to let myself forget about 'majiq', and just be 'axen'... that world has kinda become an escape for me, despite that i cant go there at will myself, and that it's a very chaotic and violent place. the place just feels like i have so much more of a life going on, as axen. it's honestly rather fulfilling, because it follows a lot of my instinctual and spiritual nature. which is i believe why my subconscious create that world and 'my'/axen's role in it, as it is.

it's also funny that when i tune into that world and axen's life in it, bc most of my experience with axen is simply being him in that world and experiencing what he goes through with him... i start to speak in first person abt him, even though he's not in front.. sometimes though that can bring him to front, if i can get his attention enough and willingness to do so. Hmm, that is an interesting tale, Shade isn't comparable sadly. Shade/Null is about as far from human as you can get, like completely different mindset on how the world works and how to approach it. He is more our intermediary between the system and the unconscious. He isn't the unconscious, obviously, but he has far greater access to it than us.

I doubt he was meant for the role, he doesn't match any other form of unconscious connected thoughtform I know of, he simply chose to do it since it was a useful role to fill. He essentially maintains the system architecture and makes sure nothing bad makes its way in as since I started tulpamancy I've had a bad time dealing with intrusive thoughts going sentient on me. He keeps that to a minimum, and the rest I can either dissipate or accept if I want them or not.

can still certainly see the similarities, but yeah the role nulls plays and the method of how he came to be that way is pretty different. nonetheless, i think median headmates/systems are really interesting.

In my dream universe I typically possess multiple different people, sometimes people who are versions of me. The one connecting thread is that they all happen in the same universe and that I always experience something otherworldly or suffer for seeking knowledge not meant for me.

Keepers??

The dream version of me actually acknowledged my existence as separate. It's like in this case he was the summoner and I the spirit.

i love that, i so fkn love that when it comes to experiencing other worlds.... the roles switch, and you're the spirit entity.

Keepers are one of the eldritch spirit types who are influencing the world. They had access before the calamity and are worshipped in small mountain communities. They take the form of cats and or possess cats and have witches, also called Keepers, who get their soul devoured in exchange for knowledge and power that the community needs to survive.

Depends on how you view them, Morality is relative. The Keepers have things to offer, and they have a price for it. My dream self was being collected outside of a deal, but he is different from the rest, has a target on his back for all things beyond nature to claim him.
